Types of License Available to Become a Hot Air Balloonist

Riding a colorful hot air balloon ( כדור פורח ) is experience of a life time. There are different people who dream of becoming hot air balloonists as they find it really adventurous, competitive and attractive.  Becoming a hot air balloon’s pilot is really a fun. At the same time, it needs commitment and dedication. There are around about 4200 hot air balloonists in the United States showing that becoming a pilot is not too easy. There are 2 types of license available for people who intend to become hot air balloonists: commercial and private. Private license allows you to fly solo while by getting commercial license ; you would be able to take people on rides in a balloon. It is important to keep in mind that all commercial pilots need to hold a private pilot’s license at the same time. The requirements and specifications for each type of license are outlined by Federal Aviation Regulation. To get a private license, you need to complete at least 10 hours of flight instruction combined with additional level of ground training and a written test. Pilots need to have 35 hours of flight time with additional ground experience and must pass a more advanced written test in order to get a commercial license.  There are different FAA-approved training institutes available which aim to provide training courses and facilities for a private or commercial license.
